Bouldering. It’s a sport that I never thought I would touch for as long as I lived, and now it’s such a huge part of my life. Weird how life works like that, am I right? How I got started was a blur, but that story will be saved for another time.
In July, I took a small road-trip with my friends to Yosemite National Park for our first outdoor bouldering experience. It was exhilarating - a moment in my life that I know I won’t forget and wish there were enough words to describe how amazing it was. If you’ve climbed before, I hope you’ll know exactly what I mean when I say there’s a unique difference between climbing a gym wall and an actual boulder. When you send (the climber’s term for: finish) a boulder outdoors, you just can’t help but smile at your accomplishment. It’s just that different and I want to share a few photographs with you from that time.
The night before we left, I drove to a local Rite-Aid and bought a small disposable Fujifilm camera. I’ve never shot one before but just felt that this trip would be a good opportunity to try it out. So, all the photographs below are from that camera. They’re not perfect, far from it actually and I have a lot to learn, but I hope it’ll tell a small story of how this trip was like.
Enjoy.
